Pre(natal)-Up™ & Family Planning Services
Policies & Disclaimers (You will sign during intake)
Before beginning the Pre(natal)-Up™ process, please review the following. This isn't legal fine print for its own sake — it's about making sure you understand exactly what this tool is, and isn't, so you can use it with full clarity and confidence.
This Is a Planning Tool & Diversion Process, Not a Legal Contract
The Pre(natal)-Up™ is a guided family planning and communication tool. It is designed to help individuals, couples, and families have proactive, structured conversations about parenting, caregiving, communication, and shared expectations — before conflict arises.
The Pre(natal)-Up™ is not a legally binding contract or agreement. Completing the Pre(natal)-Up™, with or without guided sessions, does not create enforceable legal rights or obligations between participants. If you wish to formalize any agreements reached through this process into a legally binding document, you will need to do so separately, through a licensed attorney, in accordance with the laws of your state.
This Is Not Legal Advice
Nothing provided through the Pre(natal)-Up™ process — including guided sessions, written materials, or discussion — constitutes legal advice. Athena is not acting as your attorney during this process, and no attorney-client relationship is formed through participation in the Pre(natal)-Up™ or any related session.
If your situation involves custody, child support, property division, immigration status, or any other matter with legal consequences, please consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction before relying on anything discussed during your sessions.
This Is Not Therapy or Mental Health Treatment
The Pre(natal)-Up™ process is educational and facilitative — it is not a substitute for therapy, counseling, or mental health treatment. If you or your family are experiencing conflict, distress, or mental health concerns that require professional support, we encourage you to seek care from a licensed therapist or counselor, in addition to or instead of this process.
Confidentiality
We hold space for honest conversation with care and discretion. However, because the Pre(natal)-Up™ is not a licensed clinical or legal service, it is not covered by therapist-client or attorney-client confidentiality protections. Please keep this in mind when deciding what to share during sessions.
Voluntary Participation
Participation in the Pre(natal)-Up™ process is entirely voluntary. Either participant may pause, end, or decline to continue the process at any time, for any reason.
Questions Before You Begin
If anything here is unclear, or you're not sure whether the Pre(natal)-Up™ is the right fit for your situation, reach out before booking. We'd rather you ask the question now than wonder about it later.
