Media Consent & Release Preferences
Birthers of Civilization believes that consent should extend beyond birth work and into storytelling, photography, videography, and community documentation.
Participants may choose how they wish to be represented in photographs, videos, recordings, testimonials, publications, social media, educational materials, and promotional content.
Participation in services, trainings, events, or programs does not automatically grant permission for media use.
Media Preference Options (You will provide this form to your doula at intake):

Community Storytelling Commitment
Birthers of Civilization is committed to honoring dignity, privacy, autonomy, and informed consent in all storytelling and documentation practices. We strive to represent individuals, families, and communities with accuracy, respect, and care.
Whenever possible, participants will be informed of how media may be used and given meaningful opportunities to choose their level of participation. For example:
Level 0: No photos, videos, recordings, or testimonials.
Level 1: Anonymous/faceless photos only.
Level 2: Photos with face visible, no names.
Level 3: Photos + first name.
Level 4: Photos, videos, and testimonial.
Level 5: Full media release for educational, promotional, and archival purposes
