Real change in maternal health does not happen through any one organization working alone. It happens through coalition — aligned, accountable, and rooted in the communities most affected by the systems we are working to change.
Power built in community, accountable to it.

Athena brings a rare combination of legislative, organizing, and grassroots experience to every partnership. As Senior Program Coordinator of the Organizing & Advocacy Network for a leading national reproductive health access organization, she spent two and a half years leading 15+ chapters across the Eastern and Central regions, developing clinician-advocates and aligning multi-state campaigns with national policy priorities. As Senior District & Legislative Aide for Florida House District 99, she spent two years inside the legislative process itself — tracking 75+ bills per session, supporting 7 sponsored bills, and coordinating 100+ stakeholder meetings to align legislative priorities with the needs of a district of 275,000+ constituents. And as founder of Birthers of Civilization's Advocacy Arm, she has convened 36 cross-sector legislative roundtables across Florida, bringing together doulas, clinicians, public health leaders, and legislators around bills like HB 1325 (State-Certified Doulas) and HB 541 (Childcare Safety).
This isn't theoretical partnership. It's organizing strategy, legislative fluency, and coalition infrastructure — built from the inside of every room where these decisions get made. Partnership with us can look like:
Coalition strategy & campaign alignment — connecting your organization's perinatal health or family justice work with broader regional and national advocacy efforts
Legislative strategy & bill tracking — policy research, stakeholder coordination, and legislative analysis to support your organization's engagement with lawmakers
Training & leadership development — equipping your staff, volunteers, or member-leaders with organizing infrastructure and advocacy skills that build lasting capacity, not one-off events.
Community education & convenings — co-hosting roundtables, summits, or workshops that translate complex policy into accessible advocacy and strengthen leadership pipelines across your network
We are looking for partners who are ready to be in coalition, not just in proximity — organizations who understand that family justice work requires shared accountability, not separate lanes.
If your organization is doing this work and looking for an aligned partner, let's talk.
